News Release
Fire training exercise at Cheyenne Mountain AFS - 10/13/20

The Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station fire department will conduct fire training exercises from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 14 at the base fire training center, southwest of Highway 115 and South Academy Boulevard.

This routine training is conducted periodically to ensure base emergency responders are prepared to handle a wide variety of emergencies on and off the installation. As part of cooperative agreements, the Cheyenne Mountain fire department is also relied upon to assist with emergencies in the Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood and the Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

Those traveling the I-25 and Highway 115 corridors and living adjacent to the installation should not be alarmed if they see smoke or fire from the area during this time. The CMAFS fire training center has significant safety controls in place to ensure the training environment remains safe, while providing the maximum educational environment for the firefighting teams.
