PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center has selected Sheila Lynam, MD as the organization’s new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Lynam will step into the role formerly held by Eleen Kirman, MD, who has retired. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lynam will provide medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, effective healthcare services. Her responsibilities will also include the development and implementation of innovative clinical programs. Her first day in her new role will be Sept. 2, 2018.

“It is an honor to be given this opportunity to serve the patients, providers, caregivers, and leaders of PeaceHealth St. John,” said Lynam. “I believe that to lead is to serve, and that the most honorable form of leadership is demonstrated by example. I look forward to building on established relationships and collaborating with those whom I have not yet had the pleasure of working. Together we can continue to enhance the safety and quality of care delivered in our community.”

Dr. Lynam, a pathologist with PeaceHealth Medical Group Pathology, has provided exemplary pathology care in Cowlitz County for nearly 20 years. She earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, with post-graduate studies of surgical pathology at Vanderbilt University, and anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Oklahoma. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
