Pacific Power - Notice of Proposed Rate Change
YAKIMA, WA. (SEPTEMBER 12, 2023)—PacifiCorp d/b/a Pacific Power & Light Company (Pacific Power) has submitted a recent advice filing with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (Commission) requesting a change to Schedule 98, Adjustment Associated with the Pacific Northwest Electric Power Planning and Conservation Act.
This schedule provides residential and other qualifying customers with a direct pass-through of monetary benefits from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) under the Residential Exchange Program (REP). BPA adjusts this credit every other year, which Pacific Power must implement through a filing—this year’s filing results in a decrease in the credit to Pacific Power customers.
If approved by the Commission, this proposed change will decrease the credit of $4.1m, for an average increase of approximately 2.2 percent to eligible customers. A residential customer using about 1,200 kilowatt-hours (kwh) per month would see a bill increase of $2.85 per month. The Commission will examine Pacific Power’s filing. As a result of this examination, the Commission may determine that the schedule should be accepted as filed, modified, or rejected. If accepted as filed, the rate change would go into effect on October 1, 2023.
See the attached flyer—NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE CHANGE for further details about this notice.
