Completing upgrade requires outage overnight Aug. 10-11 for Pacific Power customers in Warrenton and Hammond
WARRENTON, Ore. – Approximately 3,100 Pacific Power customers in the Warrenton and Hammond areas area will be without electricity during the early morning hours of Aug. 11 as crews complete an upgrade of essential equipment to increase capacity and improve reliability in the area.
The outage is scheduled to begin just before midnight Friday, Aug. 10 and could last until 4:30 a.m. Aug. 11, although power will be restored at the first opportunity. This work will complete the upgrade project that began with a planned outage affecting the same area in mid-July
The outage will affect the entire cities of Warrenton and Hammond.
Customers in the affected area have been notified individually about the outage.
“The temporary power interruption is necessary in order for us to safely complete the upgrade of the equipment in the substation that serves the area. With work done, we will reduce the likelihood of unexpected outages in the future and improve reliability in the area,” said Rachelle Hannon, acting regional business manager for Pacific Power.
If customers have questions about the planned outage, they can call Pacific Power at 1-888-221-7070. Any outages during that time in other parts of the community should continue to be reported to Pacific Power at 1-877-508-5088.
