Upgrade to improve reliability requires outage early Nov. 18 for Pacific Power customers in Warrenton and Hammond
WARRENTON, Ore. -- Approximately 3,100 Pacific Power customers in the Warrenton and Hammond areas area will be without electricity during the early morning hours of Nov. 18 as crews upgrade essential equipment to increase capacity and improve reliability in the area.
The outage is scheduled to begin at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 and could last until 4 a.m. on Saturday, Nov.18 although power will be restored at the first opportunity.
The outage will affect the entire cities of Warrenton and Hammond. Customers in the affected area have been notified individually about the outage.
"The temporary power interruption is necessary in order for us to safely upgrade the equipment in the Warrenton substation The work will reduce the likelihood of unexpected outages in the future and improve reliability in the area," said Alisa Dunlap, regional business manager for Pacific Power.
