Colorado Springs, Colo. – Peak Vista Community Health Centers (Peak Vista) hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Health Center Downtown, located at 111 E Las Vegas St. on April 20, 2022.
Community and business leaders gathered to celebrate the newly opened Health Center Downtown. The 5,000 square foot facility will provide medical, dental and behavioral health services, as well as care coordination and social support services. It will serve neighbors in the 80903 and surrounding communities, including those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
The Health Center Downtown will replace Peak Vista’s Health Center at Rio Grande, which will close on April 21, 2022.
“I am amazed at the expedient work of this team to make the Health Center Downtown a reality,” said Peak Vista President and CEO, Dr. Emily Ptaszek. “With supply chain issues, increasing material costs, skilled labor shortages, limited internet access, and more, in just 8 months, we persisted, as we have for 50 years. We made it happen because it is what our community needs, and it is what community health centers do. None of this would be possible without the unwavering determination and hard work of our Peak Vista team, construction partners and community partners.”
The Health Center Downtown will serve its first patient on April 22, 2022.
