Sole Support For Parkinson's Brings Community Together (Photo) - 08/29/23

Parkinson's Resources of Oregon (PRO) will host its annual awareness walk and fundraiser, Sole Support for Parkinson’s at Drake Park on Sunday, October 8, 2023. The annual event brings people whose lives are impacted by a Parkinson’s diagnosis together with a caring and supportive community for a walk along the riverfront spreading awareness about this neurodegenerative disease with no cure. Funds raised remain in the local community to help people living with the disease through Parkinson’s Resources (PRO) exercise, education, and wellness programs.

Sole Supporters, such as Redmond resident Keith Sides, look forward to participating this year. Sides, a client of PRO and captain for the walk team, Impact PD shares “When a person is diagnosed with Parkinson’s, the experience can be very isolating. Not only for the patient, but also his or her family. Sole Support brings our families together, is an opportunity to learn about local resources and experience a resilient and supportive community.”

People living with Parkinson’s disease and their families and supporters from across Central Oregon will participate in this year’s event to show their support and spread awareness about Parkinson’s disease.  Registration is required but free.
