Media Advisory: PGE Hosts Wildfire Mitigation Technology Briefing - 07/31/24

What: Portland General Electric (PGE) will host a virtual press briefing to the leading-edge technologies currently being employed as part of its wildfire mitigation strategy. The briefing will feature key speakers from PGE and technology industry leaders from Pano AI and IND Technology.

In addition to providing an inside look into its 2024 Wildfire Mitigation Plan, PGE will announce expanding its use of Pano AI's artificial intelligence-powered camera stations to enhance wildfire monitoring across the Portland area. These cameras provide continuous 360-degree coverage to detect and alert on smoke, significantly reducing response times and improving safety for first responders. 

Additionally, IND Technology’s early fault detection (EFD) sensor technology will be highlighted, demonstrating how it proactively locates and mitigates ignition hazards on power lines.
