Saddle Up For The Pacific Northwest Lineman Rodeo - 07/25/19
WHAT: The 26th Annual Pacific Northwest Lineman Rodeo, hosted by Portland General Electric, is this Saturday, July 27.
The Pacific Northwest Lineman Rodeo will gather teams of journeyman linemen, apprentices and pre-apprentices from across the West to test and showcase their trade skills on Saturday, July 27. The crews will be tested in high-wire events highlighting their speed, safety, skill and strength, including hurt-man rescues and pole climbing while carrying a raw egg.
The Pacific Northwest Lineman Rodeo is considered one of the most challenging lineman rodeos in the country, as contestants are judged on safety, precision and technique.
All proceeds from the rodeo will help support the Legacy Oregon Burn Center, and this year’s fundraising goal is $30,000. The rodeo also serves as an opportunity for families to see their linemen in action and for line crews from different areas to learn from each other by comparing gear and techniques.
The event is family-friendly, open to the public and admission is free. There will be a raffle and an auction as well as food and beverages available for purchase.
WHEN: Saturday, July 27, 2019, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
