UPDATE:
Yesterday evening (September 9th) at 6:30pm Portland Fire and Rescue (PF&R) deployed more resources in support of the Oregon State Fire Marshals Office (OSFM) to fight the Cougar Peak fire. The Cougar Peak fire is about 15 miles Northwest of Lakeview, Oregon has grown to over 37,000 acres. There are level 3 and level 1 evacuations in the area. The additional resources that PF&R has deployed includes the following;
Logistics Truck and Trailer: Task Force Leader and Task Force Leader Trainee
Brush Unit: Engine Boss and Engine Boss Trainee
Brush Unit: Engine Boss and Engine Boss Trainee
Water Tender: Engine Boss and Engine Boss Trainee

Portland Fire & Rescue has deployed two members to the Cougar Peak Fire in Lake County in support of the Oregon State Fire Marshal IMT – Blue Team. This is PF&R’s eighth deployment this fire season. The two members assumed the following positions:
-Deputy Operations Section Chief
-Deputy Planning Section Chief
