Lightning ignited the Patton Meadow Fire 14 miles west of Lakeview on August 12. Since then, it’s grown to more than 7,000 acres and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office has issued multiple levels of evacuation.
Today, Governor Kate Brown invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act, mobilizing the Office of the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM). This triggered a mobilization of the state’s Incident Management Blue Team for unified command functions. The OSFM also requested a task force and crews from Portland, Gresham and Corbett are deploying this afternoon. This is PF&R’s eighth wildfire deployment this fire season.
Here is the latest update on PF&R resources mobilized to the Patton Meadow Fire.
