News Release
Portland Fire responds to Apartment fire in NW Portland - 03/07/19

Just after 8:30p Fire crews responded to reports of an apartment fire on the corner of NW 5th & NW Glisan. Upon arrival, fire was showing from a third floor window with reports of a person inside.

As crews made their way in to fight the fire, they encountered a male victim and removed him outside to awaiting medics. A second victim was found walking outside complaining of smoke inhalation. Both patients have been transported to area hospitals.

The fire was contained to the room of origin and investigators are on scene working to determine the cause.

Due to cold weather, Tri-Met buses have been called to the scene to provide warming shelters for residence who had to evacuate while crews finish up on scene.
