Tualatin veteran won $1 million playing Mega Millions

WHAT: Oregon Lottery officials will present an oversized check to representatives of Fred Meyer for selling a winning $1 million Mega Millions ticket. Lottery officials will also be handing out a limited number of free promotional Scratch-it tickets at the event.
BACKGROUND: James Robbins, an Air Force veteran from Tualatin, won $1 million prize playing Mega Millions with a ticket he purchased at the Tualatin Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer will receive a retailer sales bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. Robbins won his prize with a single $2 Mega Millions ticket. He said he was going to help out family with the winnings.
“Are you serious?” Robbins kept saying when he realized he won.
VISUALS: Oregon Lottery officials will present an over-sized ceremonial check to representatives of Fred Meyer and will also distribute a limited amount of free promotional Scratch-it tickets to patrons of the store.
