Oregon Lottery Sponsors Free Events For State Parks Day - 06/01/18

June 1, 2018 - Salem, Ore. The Oregon Lottery is partnering with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to help highlight State Parks Day June 2.

On Saturday, June 2 there is free day-use parking and free overnight camping in Oregon’s state parks. As part of State Parks Day, the Lottery gave away state parks passes through their social media and digital channels during the month of May.

On State Parks Day, the Lottery will be sponsoring events at Milo McIver State Park, Cove Palisades State Park and Wallowa Lake State Park.

At Milo McIver State Park, near Estacada, the non-profit group Adventures Without Limits is offering an adaptive kayak tour for people with limited mobility.

At Cove Palisades State Park, near Culver and Madras in central Oregon, the Lottery will sponsor a family safety fair. Other events at the park that day will include a pancake breakfast and pictures with Smokey Bear and JR Beaver.

And in northeast Oregon, the Lottery will sponsor two concerts happening at Wallowa Lake State Park in the lake amphitheater on the evening of Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2.

Since 1999, the Oregon Lottery has provided more than $685 million in proceeds to help maintain Oregon’s state parks. This includes funding the purchase of new park land and dollars to keep state parks open year-round.
