What: Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is convening a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) to provide input to OHA on rules regarding indoor mask requirements necessary to prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19, specifically:
The current temporary rule for Masking Requirements in Indoor Spaces (OAR 333-019-1025) can be found at: https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/viewSingleRule.action?ruleVrsnRsn=283859
Purpose: The purpose of the RAC meeting is to seek input from committee members on the rules, including the projected burden and fiscal impact of the rules and suggestions for alternative language.
The general public is invited to attend the RAC meeting in listen-only mode. Public comments are not accepted during the RAC meeting.
After the rule is formally proposed, there will be a public comment period and a public hearing. During the public comment period anyone may submit written comments to OHA. At the public hearing, the public may give oral testimony. If you would like to receive information about these opportunities when they are available, please contact publichealth.rules@dhsoha.state.or.us to be added to the interested parties list.

Background: The COVID-19-related rule regarding wearing a mask in indoor spaces was amended or adopted via the temporary rulemaking process; the rules will now go through the regular rulemaking process.
