Oregon Dept. Of Forestry To Host Live Air Curtain Incinerator Demonstration Burn In Cottage Grove On November 23rd (Photo) - 11/05/26

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – If you are a small woodland, vineyard, or orchard manager you may know the frustrations of being left with a large amount of woody debris after a harvest or pruning. Trying to decide what to do with all that material is one thing but wait too long and you can accidentally create the perfect habitat for pest insects that can do a great deal of damage to your standing timber or crops. Many landowners are turning to Air Curtain Incinerators (ACI) to help manage the leftover woody debris. An ACI is a specialized piece of equipment that burns woody biomass. Burning in an ACI produces much less smoke and particulate matter than an open burn pile.

On Monday, Nov. 23 the Oregon Department of Forestry is hosting a live ACI demo. This demo will be held at the Center for Rural Livelihoods, 80574 Hazelton Road in Cottage Grove. Attendees are welcome to drop in from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This demo is perfect for fire departments, local governments, natural area land managers, Firewise communities, prescribed burn associations, nurseries, orchards, vineyards, arborists, landowners, and anyone who has to manage woody biomass looking for alternative to chipping or pile burning. Attendees will learn about what an ACI is and how to operate one, the benefits of using one, and how the biochar produced can be used to improve your soil.

It is free to attend the ACI demo, but attendees are asked to register before attending. To register and learn more about ACI visit http://tiny.cc/ACI-demos. For questions or help registering, contact [email protected].
