142nd Wing to Conduct September 11th Ceremony Flyovers (Photo) - 09/10/21

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Wing will conduct 9/11 memorial flyovers this Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 in Vancouver, Wash. and Albany, Ore.

According to Colonel David Unruh, 142nd Wing Commander, these flyovers give the wing a chance to reflect. “It’s a privilege to remember all of those who were lost on 9/11. They are lost to us but they are never forgotten,” said Unruh. “Our flybys represent that remembrance of those friends and families taken from us too soon.”

The F-15 Eagle fighter jets are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the following community locations at, or around, the designated times on Saturday, 11 September.

9:03 a.m. Albany, Ore. Linn County Courthouse

9:15 a.m. Vancouver, Wash. Waterfront Park

All passes will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and about 400 mph airspeed. Flights could be canceled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.
