New location expands access to personalized, in-person banking and builds on OnPoint’s longtime presence in Lake Oswego

PORTLAND, Ore. — OnPoint Community Credit Union will open its second Lake Oswego branch on October 16 at 101 A Avenue in the heart of downtown, expanding its longtime presence in the community with a new location serving residents, businesses and visitors in the city’s growing downtown core. OnPoint will donate $5,000 to Hunger Fighters Oregon and host a community grand opening on October 24 to celebrate the new branch.

The opening comes as Lake Oswego continues to invest in its future, with new housing, commercial development and other improvements planned throughout downtown and surrounding areas. While population growth is projected to remain steady, continued development is expected to bring new residents, businesses and visitors to the community in the years ahead.

“As Lake Oswego continues to invest in its downtown and plan for the future, we’re excited to deepen our own investment in the community,” said Rob Stuart, president and chief executive officer, OnPoint Community Credit Union. “Our Kruse Meadows branch has served Lake Oswego for years, and this new downtown location will make it even easier for members and local businesses to access personalized financial services close to where they live and work.”

The Lake Oswego Branch will provide a comprehensive suite of financial services, including:

  • Full member account support
  • New membership enrollment
  • Personal and commercial loans
  • Home and equity lending
  • Financial planning
  • ATM services
  • Notarization

OnPoint also offers free, one-on-one financial counseling, debt management support and educational resources through its partnership with GreenPath Financial Wellness.

Community invited to grand opening celebration

The Lake Oswego community is invited to join OnPoint's grand opening on October 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can meet the branch team, explore the new space and learn more about OnPoint's products, services and community partnerships.

Local leadership and community connection

Colette Young will lead the new branch as branch manager. Young joined OnPoint in 2002 and has held a variety of roles across the credit union, most recently serving as branch manager at OnPoint’s Kruse Meadows branch.

“I’m excited to continue serving the Lake Oswego community and welcome members to our new downtown branch,” Young said. “Having another location gives us an opportunity to build even stronger relationships with the people and businesses who call Lake Oswego home and make it easier for members to get personalized support when and where they need it.”

Young lives in Southwest Portland with her husband, Ryan, and their two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Outside the credit union, she serves on the board of trustees at Randal Children’s Hospital. A lifelong Oregonian, Young enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, fishing and camping.

OnPoint's $5,000 donation to Hunger Fighters Oregon reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities it serves. The food pantry provides food and essential household items at no cost to those in need, with no proof of income or residency barriers.

“Support from partners like OnPoint helps us continue our work to ensure that people in need in our community can access high-quality, basic and supplemental food and essential hygiene items,” said Simone Coker-Kamna, executive director, Hunger Fighters Oregon. “We’re grateful for OnPoint’s investment in our work and excited to welcome its new downtown branch to Lake Oswego.”

Expanding OnPoint’s presence in Lake Oswego

The new downtown location builds on OnPoint’s longstanding presence in Lake Oswego. The credit union will continue to serve members at its Kruse Meadows branch while providing another convenient option for personalized, in-person financial services closer to the city’s downtown businesses, residents and visitors.
