Weird Portland United, the pioneering non-profit dedicated to celebrating all things wonderfully weird, is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Portland Weird Fest. Scheduled to take place on September 7, 2024, this one-of-a-kind event promises an extraordinary experience for anyone seeking a departure from the mundane.
The Portland Weird Fest is not your typical festival. This immersive celebration is designed to fully embrace and showcase the eclectic and eccentric spirit that defines Portland. From a vast array of bizarre vendors to whimsical entertainment, this festival is a playground for the curious and the unconventional.
Event Highlights Include:
• Over 60 Weird Vendors: Discover an assortment of unique and offbeat goods, from peculiar antiques to imaginative handmade crafts.
• Five Weird Bands: Enjoy live music from local bands that push the boundaries of genre and performance.
• Gigantic Brewery Beer Garden: Sip on an impressive selection of craft beers in our expansive beer garden.
• Weird Trivia & Bingo: Test your knowledge and luck with trivia and bingo games centered around all things weird.
• Weird Pie Eating Contest: Join in the fun or cheer on contestants in a pie-eating challenge like no other.
• Family-Friendly Free Weird Games: Engage in a variety of whimsical games and activities designed for kids.
• Pop-Up Movie Theater: Watch a curated selection of weird, local short films.
• 21+ Burlesque and Side Show Performances: Enjoy thrilling and tantalizing performances in our dedicated 21+ section.
• Roaming Characters and Performers: Encounter over 20 eccentric characters and performers adding surprise and delight throughout the festival.
Christine Lassiter, President of Weird Portland United, expressed her excitement for the event, stating, “The Portland Weird Fest is our way of celebrating and amplifying the wonderfully weird spirit of our community. We’ve curated an experience that goes beyond a traditional festival, creating an environment where attendees can fully immerse themselves in the unique and unconventional aspects of Portland. The Portland Weird Fest will be held at Oaks Park with festivities running from 12pm to 5pm. Tickets are available now and can be purchased through our website at WeirdPortlandUnited.org. General Admission $15, Kids 12 and Under Free.
