Fatal Crash – Highway 35 – Hood River County - 09/14/26

HOOD RIVER COUNTY, Ore. (14 September 2026) - On Sunday, September 13, 2026, at approximately 2:36 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 35 near milepost 100 in Hood River County.  

 

The preliminary investigation indicated a silver Subaru Outback, operated by Omar Julio Solano-Delgado (33) of Hood River, was traveling southbound on Highway 35 when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle collided with and went through the guardrail before traveling down a steep embankment.

 

The operator of the Subaru (Solano-Delgado) was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

 

The highway was impacted for approximately one hour during the on-scene investigation.  

 

Impairment is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.  

 

OSP was assisted by the Hood River Fire & EMS, WyEast Fire District, Hood River Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
