UPDATE - Names Released - Fatal car crash Hwy 26 east of Sandy June 29, 2018 - 07/06/18

The operator of the passenger car, a 2012 Honda accord, has been identified as Ryan REYNA, age 28 from Sandy, OR.

The operator of the commercial motor vehicle has been identified as Brian SHERIDAN, age 49 from Terrebonne, OR.


On June 29, 2018 at approximately 4:00 AM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 26 near milepost 48. 

Preliminary investigation is a passenger car traveling east crossed into the westbound lanes for unknown reason.  The passenger car struck a westbound commercial motor vehicle hauling wood chips. The commercial truck came to rest off the road in some trees and caught fire. 

Both drivers suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.  There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Oregon State Police is requesting anyone with any information to contact 503-375-3555.
