*Update* 4 Vehicle Injury Crash Closes I-84 at milepost 156 Eastbound - Morrow County (Photo) - 11/10/17

*Update*

On November 9th, 2017 at approximately 12:06pm Troopers from the Pendleton Area Command responded to a report of a multi vehicle crash on Interstate 84 eastbound near milepost 156 in Morrow County.

Preliminary investigation revealed traffic had slowed or come to a stop due to reported construction working in the area. The crash involved a 2015 Kenworth Conventional Truck and semi trailer operated by ARTHUR O'NEAL (41) from Prichard, Alabama, a 2012 Dodge pickup occupied by the driver CHRISTOPHER GUTHRIDGE (27) from Silverton, Oregon and passenger, WILLIAM GUTHRIDGE (65) from Silverton, Oregon, a 2001 Pontiac operated by JAMIE STARBOARD (37) from Baker City, Oregon and accompanied by three child passengers, and a 2012 Dodge pickup towing a flatbed trailer operated by AUSTIN PENDELL (24) from Summerville, Oregon.

Due to the complexity of the crash and the number of vehicles involved, investigators are still working to determine the exact chain of events in the crash. Preliminary evidence and statements indicate the 2012 Dodge pickup and trailer combination initially struck the 2001 Pontiac, then a series of chain reaction crashes occurred.

WILLIAM GUTHRIDGE suffered critical injuries and was transported from the crash scene by Life Flight to St. Charles Hospital in Bend.

CHRISTOPER GUTHRIDGE suffered serious injuries and was initially transported by ground ambulance to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston then transferred by Life Flight to Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

JAMIE STARBOARD suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Good Shepherd Hospital. A 12 year old female passenger in STARBOARDS car was transported by ground ambulance to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with serious injuries. Two other children in the vehicle were transported to Good Shepherd Hospital for evaluation.

AUSTIN PENDELL suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Good Shepherd Hospital.

ARTHUR O'NEAL was uninjured in the crash.
