Stand up for Safety, Save our Baker City Firefighters and Ambulance (Photo) - 05/09/22

Baker City Firefighters are asking the local radio media to donate a short radio spot on Monday and Tuesday, May 9th and 10th to support Baker City public safety.

“Baker City Firefighters are asking citizens to attend the city council meeting on Tuesday, May 10th at 7pm to voice their opinion and “Stand up for Safety” on the proposed 50% cuts to Baker City Firefighters and ambulance services."

Baker City Council and City Manager have proposed and budgeted for 50% cuts to fire protection and ambulance services within Baker City and a large part of the County area. Baker City Firefighters provide fire protection and emergency medical services that cannot be replaced by for-profit private companies. When you call 911 you receive professional, home grown fire protection and emergency medical services from firefighter/paramedics in Baker City. By cutting firefighter/paramedics and ambulance services the city is putting the community’s safety at risk and jeopardizing the safety of all citizens in the Baker area.

Meeting Information:

Location: Baker City Hall – 1655 1st St

Date: May 10, 2022

Time: 7pm
