Oregon City Police Investigating Attempted Identify Theft After ATM Skimming Device Located At Oregonians Credit Union (Photo) - 03/03/23

****Update*********

This is occurred at Oregonians Credit Union in Oregon City, not the Oregonian's Credit Union.

*****************************************************************************

On March 3rd, 2023 at about 11:52 p.m. an employee of the Oregonians Credit Union located at 19360 Molalla Ave informed the Oregon City Police Department that a credit card skimmer had been placed on their ATM.  Upon arriving at the bank, an officer was able to seize the credit card skimming device, as well as a camera which had been installed in the ATM housing. The device was determined to have been placed on the ATM on February 25th, 2023.

While we can’t be certain, given the specifics about the device and its recovery prior to the suspect reobtaining it, we are cautiously optimistic the suspect was unable to steal anybody’s credit card information.  At this point in the investigation, no victims have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

A suspect, who is described as a middle-aged white male adult, wearing a blue stocking cap and tan colored jacket is believed to have placed the device on the ATM.  If you have any information about his identity, please call the Oregon City Police Tip Line at 503-905-3505 and reference OCPD case number 23-004587.

If you believe your credit card information was compromised due to this incident, please call the Clackamas County Dispatch Non-Emergency number at 503-655-8211 to make a police report.
