UPDATE: 

Oregon City Coffee Shop Robbery Suspect Identified and Arrested.

Oregon City, Oregon (February 14, 2022, 6:00 pm): On February 1, 2022, just before 6:00 am Oregon City Patrol Officers arrested 38-year-old Michael Robert Frias on multiple charges at the Oregonians Federal Credit Union, located at 19360 Molalla Avenue, in Oregon City. 

Oregon City Police responded to an alarm call and located Mr. Frias attempting to break into the bank’s night drop box. Mr. Frias was initially lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on multiple charges including Burglary II, Assault on a Public Safety Officer, and Unlawful use of a Weapon.

Oregon City Police Detectives investigated the case and were able to link Michael Robert Frias to a string of Coffee shop robberies that occurred on January 15, 2022, in Mulino, Oregon and Oregon City, Oregon. Detectives identified Mr. Frias as the suspect in the Keller Coffee robbery, the Black Rock Coffee robbery, and the Dutch Brothers Coffee robbery. Mr. Frias was identified as the suspect in the Oregon City Fred Meyer Gas Station burglary which occurred in the early morning hours of January 16, 2022.

On February 9, 2022, a Clackamas County Grand Jury indicted Michael Robert Frias on 1 count of Robbery I, 3 counts of Robbery II, Attempted assault on a public safety officer, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Burglary II, Criminal Mischief I, 6 counts of Menacing and Theft II. He is being held in the Clackamas County Jail with a bail set at $400,000.

PREVIOUSLY:

On 1/15/2022, at approximately 7:20 PM, the suspect in the attached photos robbed the Black Rock Coffee at 1801 Molalla Avenue. The same suspect robbed the Dutch Bros at 1002 Main Street at 7:50 PM. In both cases, the suspect walked to the window, produced what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded that the employees give him money. The suspect was described as a male between 5’6” and 5’10” with dark eyes. The suspect was wearing a black motorcycle helmet with an “X” marked with white tape and the face portion was obstructed with mesh. He appeared to be clothed in a black jacket with white writing, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes.
