Oregon City Police Department Stats from Speed Enforcement Grant - 09/24/20

From August 10th to August 23rd the Oregon City Police Department participated in a Speed Enforcement Grant.  With grant funds from the Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon Impact, officers conducted extra enforcement patrols specifically targeting speeding vehicles.  The primary focus of these patrols was to educate drivers and help raise awareness on the dangers of speeding.

 

During the grant period, our officers worked various shifts during the day and stopped 34 motorists.  During these shifts, officers wrote a total of 38 violations and gave 23 warnings.  The violations included 20 citations issued for speeding, 1 citation issued for driving while suspended, 2 citations for operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile electronic device and 15 other various violations.  Of the 23 warnings, 1 was given for operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile electronic device and 22 were given for other various violations.  

 

The Oregon City Police Department wants to remind everyone to be aware of your surroundings when operating a motor vehicle and avoid speeding.
