Oregon City, Oregon (May 16, 2018, 1:30 pm): The man who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Hwy 213 near Clackamas River drive early Monday morning has been identified as 37-year-old John William Pundyk from Oregon City.

On Monday, May 14, 2018 around 3:37 am Mr. Pundyk crashed his SUV into the gas pumps at the Chevron/Stein Oil Station located on Clackamas River Drive and Hwy 213. A few moments later Mr. Pundyk was seen running into the North bound lanes of Hwy 213 where he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The Oregon City Police Department, the Oregon State Police, and the Medical Examiner’s Office all assisted with the investigation. Firefighters from Clackamas Fire District 1 arrived quickly and were able to stop a fire at the gas pumps, which was caused by the initial crash. The North bound lanes of Hwy 213 were shut down for several hours, while police investigated both crash scenes.
