Enhanced Impaired Driving Patrols during the Christmas and New Year's Holiday -- North Plains, OR - 01/08/18

NPPD Officers, in partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), provided extra patrols during the Christmas and New Year's Holiday to enhance safety on the roads.
In addition to extra patrols focused on impaired driving, Officers will also be looking for drivers that are speeding, following too closely, and distracted drivers using mobile communication devices.
NPPD Officers frequently respond to numerous traffic related incidents that could have been avoided. Officers are reminding drivers to designate a sober driver, slow down, avoid distractions, and allow adequate following distances. The North Plains Police Department would like everyone to have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year holiday. Please remember to be safe and considerate while on the roads.
01/08/2018 Media Release Update-- NPPD Officers Arrest 2 DUII Drivers and issued 1 MIP (Minor in possession of alcohol) during the Christmas and New Year's Holiday. During that period, NPPD Officers stopped 30 drivers for traffic violations.
