PORTLAND, OREGON: 7.8.22– New Avenues for Youth presents the Eleventh Annual Brews for New Avenues – a series of events celebrating craft beer and showcasing the social consciousness of the beer community. Since its inception, Brews for New Avenues has raised more than $1.4 Million for New Avenues for Youth, a Portland nonprofit serving youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness, with a focus on prevention. This year’s goal is to raise $250,000 to continue supporting these critical programs and services.
Brews for New Avenues features a silent auction sponsored by AT&T, a live auction of rare and large format bottles, a lively food truck area featuring Pidgin Hole and Alchemy Sandwich Co, live music from Hans & the Wanted, craft beer from more than 50 local, national and international breweries, and outdoor games headlined by our friends at Pound Disc Golf. Attendees will also be able to purchase mystery bottles from the highly anticipated Wall of Beer, as well as special limited releases from world-renowned brewers including Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, Block 15, de Garde, and The Referend.
Hundreds of beer enthusiasts, many of whom travel to Portland from around the globe, are expected to attend this year’s event for the unique draft lineup and for the opportunity to buy rare to almost-impossible-to-get beers. The exclusive VIP event will feature special pours, as well as a silent auction with hard-to-find bottles. The General Admission event will then welcome all of our guests for an additional silent auction and the chance to bid live on exclusive items.
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:
1 pm – Doors for VIP event; VIP silent auction
4 pm - Doors open for general admission event; Wall of Beer opens; GA silent auction begins, live music
5:30 pm - Live auction begins
8 pm - Last call
This event is truly nirvana for beer lovers seeking the best in craft beer! Last year’s event raised more than $200,000 -- a remarkable achievement. “The 10th Annual Brews for New Avenues was a milestone event, raising critical funds to support our mission of ending youth homelessness,” said Lauren Eads, Director of Development & Communications. “It’s incredible to witness beer lovers from all around the world come together to celebrate their passion for rare one-of-a-kind beers while doing good in our community.”
This year, out-of-town Guest Brewers Sante Adairius Rustic Ales join us from Santa Cruz County, California. Well known the world over for their barrel-aged mixed fermentation creations, guests will have a chance to sample their beers and purchase a special limited release.
Local favorite and long-time supporter Logsdon Farmhouse Ales will also be at this year’s event as a 2022 Guest Brewer. Their beers run the gamut from fabulous, ground-breaking, world-class ale standard bearers like Peche ‘n Brett to finely tuned lagers and classic IPAs.
