Northwest Association for Blind Athletes Expands Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program for Individuals who are Blind and Visually Impaired Across Southern Willamette Valley

Vancouver, Washington--February 21,2018--Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that it will be hosting two winter sports experiences this weekend for individuals who are visually impaired in the Southern Willamette Valley. Both programs will be held at Hoodoo Ski Area (27400 Big Lake Road, Sisters, OR 97759). Athletes will get the opportunity to learn fundamental skills for skiing or snowboarding. The first program will be held Friday, February 23 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The second program is scheduled for Saturday, February 24 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. These programs are being offered at no cost to the participants, and they will provide one-on-one instruction, a lift pass, and rental equipment. Northwest Association for Blind Athletes plans to host additional ski & snowboard experiences in March and has aspirations of expanding the program in the future. Each session will cost the organization in excess of $1,000.00 for twelve participants. Donations are accepted to support NWABA's new ski & snowboard program by mailing a check to PO BOX 65265, Vancouver, WA, 98665 or making an online gift at www.nwaba.org. The organization was founded in 2007 by the executive director to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
