News Release
Newberg-Dundee Police locate two males deceased at Roger's Landing Park - 11/27/24

On November 25th, 2024, the Newberg-Dundee Police Department received missing person reports from the families of 40-year-old Benigno Hermenegildo-Pascuala and 39-year-old Eufracio Lopez de Jesus. The two were reportedly last seen on the night of November 24th, 2024, in Newberg. Witnesses also reported that the two were in a heated argument that evening.

Applying digital forensic analysis to mobile device data and video surveillance, investigators determined both men’s last location was at the Roger’s Landing County Park in Newberg. On November 26th, investigators located an oil sheen on the water directly in front of the boat launch. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded and utilized an underwater camera to locate Benigno’s vehicle in the water. The Lake Oswego Fire Department’s dive team responded to assist in recovering the vehicle from the water. Benigno and Eufracio were both located inside the vehicle, deceased. At this time, it is unknown why the vehicle was driven into the water or what led to the event.

The Newberg-Dundee Police Department would like to thank the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the Lake Oswego Fire Department, and Three Angels Towing for their assistance in this investigation.
