Officer Treated After Drug Exposure - 03/13/23

On March 12, 2023, officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department responded to a suspicious circumstance call involving drug use at the laundry room of the apartment complex located at 802 E 9th Street.

When officers arrived, they located a subject coming out of the laundry room who is known to them. One of the officers contacted the subject, while the other officer entered the laundry room to check for evidence of drug use including paraphernalia that may have been left behind and could be a danger to the public.

Moments after entering the laundry room, the officer began to have a drug exposure reaction. The cover officer recognized that the 1st officer was having an exposure reaction, called for more officers and administered two doses of Narcan.

The exposed officer was transported to Providence Newberg Medical Center for medical assessment and care.  The officer has been released from the hospital following treatment.  NDPD wants to express our most sincere thank you to the ER staff who provided excellent care for our officer.
