News Release
Man shot and killed in Newberg - 01/13/18

On January 12, 2018 at approximately at 11:41pm Officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Main and E Second Street. When the officers arrived they located a male that was deceased. It appears the male died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted life saving measures but it was clear the male was deceased. The Yamhill County Major Crimes Team was called out to assist NDPD in the investigation. The MCRT is comprised of officers from the Yamhill County District Attorney's Office, Newberg-Dundee, McMinnville, Oregon State Police, Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, and Yamhill PD.

The deceased has been identified but his name is not being released at this time because it is an ongoing investigation. Additionally, officers have not been able to notify the male's next of kin. Based on witness interviews, investigators believe this was a homicide. This is an ongoing and active investigation.
