Libra Forde appointed to North Clackamas School Board
Forde will succeed Trisha Claxton in Position 3 and serve through June 30
Milwaukie, OR (January 25, 2019)—The North Clackamas School District (NCSD) School Board voted at its regular meeting Thursday evening to name Libra Forde as its next director. Forde will serve out the remaining term for Position 3, which runs through June 30, 2019, following the resignation of Director Trisha Claxton in November.
“It is truly an honor to be entrusted with the position on the North Clackamas School Board,” Forde said following the meeting. “I am looking forward to serving the youth, families, and educators of the community my family calls home.”
Forde was selected to be Claxton’s successor from a field of nine applicants after the current six directors went through two rounds of voting.
Currently the Chief Operating Officer of Self Enhancement Inc., a Portland-based nonprofit organization focused on helping underserved youth, Forde has two children who attend NCSD. She is a graduate of Brandeis University and earned her MBA and Doctorate of Management from the University of Phoenix.
A member of NCSD’s School Naming committee that met last year, Forde has an extensive background in education and volunteering. That includes filling a variety of roles during an eight-year stint with national education company K12, as well as board positions at Insight School of Oregon, Piedmont Rose, and Clackamas Women’s Services.
Forde is set to be sworn during the board’s Feb. 14 meeting.
