Neglected Animals Seized By Law Enforcement From House In East Portland - 08/27/24

August 27, 2024

Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt today announced that 13 dogs and 2 cats were seized from a home in the Lents neighborhood of East Portland. Working closely with PPB’s East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team (NRT), prosecutors with the MCDA Access Attorney Program (MAAP) responded to multiple complaints of malnourished animals and hazardous living conditions. A warrant to seize the animals was signed and executed today, in collaboration with Multnomah County Animal Services and The Oregon Humane Society. 

As further investigation is underway, any members of the community with additional information are encouraged to reach out to PPB or email damailbox@mcda.us using the subject line Lents Animal Neglect Concerns. 

MCDA thanks the East Neighborhood Response Team, Multnomah County Animal Services, the Oregon Humane Society, and the concerned citizens who saved the lives of many animals today.
