Michael Ramirez, 19, accused of murdering two people in southeast Portland


Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced the filing of a four-count indictment that alleges Michael Ramirez, 19, of murdering two people. 

According to the indictment, Ramirez unlawfully and intentionally caused the death of Sergey Peshkov and Lorenzo Gordon.

Ramirez is charged with two counts of murder with a firearm and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. 

Mr. Peshkov, 44, was found dead on May 24, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the front yard of a home in the 10300 block of Southeast Reedway Street in the Lents neighborhood, according to information previously released by the Portland Police Bureau. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Mr. Peshkov died of gunshot wounds. 

Mr. Gordon, 18, was found dead on May 25, 2019 at approximately 8 p.m. in the 600 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue, according to information previously released by the Portland Police Bureau. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Mr. Gordon died of a gunshot wound. 

Gresham Police arrested Ramirez on May 26, 2019 in the 17400 block of Northeast Glisan Street. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a hold from the Oregon Youth Authority. 

The grand jury reviewing these two homicides was presented evidence over the course of two weeks. The indictment was filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court on June 17, 2019. 

Ramirez is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18, 2019 via video at the Multnomah County Justice Center. 

The families of both Mr. Peshkov and Mr. Gordon are requesting privacy at this time and do not want media contact. 

No additional details about either investigation can be released at this time by law enforcement or the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. 

An indictment is only an accusation of a crime. Ramirez is innocent unless and until proven guilty.
