Milwaukie Police is grateful to be accepted as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) 100th community education partner, and the first NCMEC law enforcement community education partner in Oregon. Milwaukie Police has been collaborating with local youth organizations on internet safety presentations and demonstrations of K9 Flora. Our investigations division along with K9 Flora will now have access to NCMEC educational materials through this partnership covering a variety of topics to include internet and community safety for youth.

NCMEC is the largest and most influential child protection organization leading the fight to protect children, creating vital resources for them and the people who keep them safe. In the past 40 years NCMEC has circulated billions of photos of missing children, and assisted law enforcement, families and child welfare professionals with the recovery of more than 450,000 cases of missing children. Missing children are highly vulnerable and face risks including physical and sexual violence, homelessness, exposure to substance use and child sex trafficking. Education is a key step to awareness and prevention of these dangers.
