News Release
Case: 21-006368, Driver Crashes Vehicle into Chevron Air/Water station After Requesting 911 - 09/13/21

On 9/12/2021 at approximately 2:07 am, Milwaukie Police responded to the Chevron gas station located at, 10950 SE Oak Street in the City of Milwaukie, after a male subject in a Red SUV requested a Chevron employee call 911. The driver told the Chevron employee he was having a heart attack, then shortly after, crashed his vehicle into the air and water station which resulted in the vehicle rolling over onto its roof.

Police and Medics arrived on scene at approximately 2:08 am. Medics extracted the driver from the vehicle and discoveredwhat appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. The driver later died from the injury while being transported by AMR to a local hospital.

Police located a firearm and a spent shell casing inside the SUV,along with additional handgun magazines and unusedammunition. Milwaukie Police Detectives were notified and provided the details of the incident. The subject’s death is being investigated as a suicide. The identification of the male is not being released at this time.
