Milwaukie Police Investigate Auto vs Pedestrian Accident. - 11/24/17

Case #17-4466

On 11-24-17, around 9:20 p.m., Milwaukie Police were dispatched to the intersection of SE 42nd Avenue and SE Harrison Street in regards to an auto vs. pedestrian accident.

52-year-old Carl Beardsley, was walking south on 42nd Avenue and was in the crosswalk at SE Harrison Street when he was struck by a vehicle. Mr. Beardsley was treated at the scene by fire/medics for minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, 84-year-old Nels Backstrom, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Milwaukie Police would like to remind all drivers to come to a complete stop at all intersections and use caution when proceeding, especially at night or in low visibility area where street lights are not present.
