Metro West Ambulance, the emergency ambulance provider for Washington County, announced today their recognition as the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce Corporate Partner of the Year during the inaugural Mover of Mountains Gala held on May 19th. This award recognizes businesses that have demonstrated a social responsibility to the community to improve the quality of life and raise the standards for living and working in and around Beaverton. Metro West Ambulance was nominated for their life-saving services and their support and involvement in the community, including serving on the Business Advocacy Councils and sponsoring various events. The Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce shared that it hit close to home when one of their own staff needed emergency care and Metro West Ambulance was there to make certain he received the care he needed.
While receiving the BACC Corporate Partner of the Year Award, Metro West Ambulance Public Information Officer Jan Lee thanked everyone for their support saying, “This year marks our company’s 70th Anniversary. We are so honored to have had the privilege of being there for Beaverton and all the citizens of Washington County when you needed us the most all of these years.” She then added, “We wish you didn’t need us, but when you do, we’ll be there.”
BACC Chamber President/CEO Alicia Bermes, along with the evening’s presenter Stephen Smelley, gave 10 Community Awards to various outstanding individuals and businesses including Metro West Ambulance that have positively impacted Beaverton. Winners recognized at the event were nominated by BACC members and voted on by the public. Metro West Ambulance was honored to be among the award recipients that included Beaverton’s Living Legend Patricia Reser; Distinguished Military Contribution Major Ian Beaty, BACC Chamber Member of the Year Stephen Smelley; Beaverton Community Member of the Year Award Monika Piazza; BACC Small Business Partner of the Year Award Ava Roasteria; Public Safety Excellence Award Officer Nick Jacobs, Beaverton PD; Dedication to Youth Excellence Award Bonnie Heaton; Distinguished Voluntary Service Award Sue Pike; Youth Achievement Award Aiden Ionis.
The evening’s event included a silent auction that benefits the BACC Scholarship Fund for post high school education.
