Incident: Serious Injury Bicyclist Accident (Possible Hit and Run) 

Location: 1301 Center Drive (Fred Meyer south/ south entrance near Taco Bell)

Date and Time: March 4th/ Approximately 6:42 PM

 

On March 4th at approximately 6:42 PM, Medford Fire Rescue and Mercy Flights Ambulance were dispatched to a report of adult male down in the Fred Meyer south parking lot near Taco Bell. The patient was found unresponsive with a head injury. The patient was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medic Center where he is currently being treated.                   

The scene indicated the patient was operating bicycle when the incident occurred. Additional information received suggested a motor vehicle might have been involved in the incident (not confirmed at this time.) Medford Police Department patrol officers responded to the scene to investigate. Additional resources to include Medford Police detectives and members of the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (STAR) responded to assist with the investigation.

At this time the incident remains under investigation. The Medford Police Department is asking for any witnesses to reach out to investigators as soon as possible at the below number.
