MCSO Investigates Drowning In Scotts Mills County Park (Photo) - 08/05/26

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 8:24 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a possible drowning at Scotts Mills County Park. Upon arrival, the victim was not located.

 

Early this morning, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Dive Team searched Butte Creek at Scotts Mills Falls and recovered the body of a 20-year-old man.

 

The Sheriff's Office extends its condolences to the victim's family and asks the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

 

No additional details will be released at this time.

 

We ask the public to avoid Scotts Mills County Park while this investigation continues.

 

The Marion County Sheriff's Office thanks the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office for the assistance of its Dive Team.
