Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation On Cordon Road NE (Photo) - 09/20/25

Just before 8:00 p.m. this evening, Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a serious two-vehicle crash near the 2400 block of Cordon Road NE in Salem.

 

Preliminary information indicates that four occupants of one vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two additional occupants from that same vehicle were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. Occupants of the second vehicle were also transported for medical evaluation and treatment.

 

Cordon Road NE remains closed while investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office CRASH Team process the scene. The roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours.

 

The identities of those involved are not being released at this time pending next-of-kin notification.

 

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks community members to avoid the area to allow first responders and investigators to work safely. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
