***Update - In custody***Adult in Custody Walks Away from Transition Center (Photo) - 07/16/21

At just after 11:00 a.m. this morning, July 16th, 2021, an alert community member reported seeing a male matching McCormick's description in the 21000 block of Dolores Way NE near Aurora.  When deputies arrived on scene they located McCormick who led deputies on a short foot pursuit before giving up and being arrested by deputies.

Deputies transported McCormick to the Marion County Jail where he was lodged.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the caller for their tip which led to McCormick's arrest.

Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating an Adult in Custody (AIC) who walked away from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Transition Center. William McCormick, 43, walked away from the facility around 12:28 p.m. on Saturday July 10, 2021. McCormick was in custody for a parole violation.

McCormick is a white adult male with blue eyes and blond hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 210 lbs.

The Marion County Transition Center prepares AICs for re-entry into the community prior to release from custody. AICs are allowed to leave the facility for pre-approved treatment or medical appointments.  

Deputies are asking anyone with information about McCormick to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 503-588-5032.
