Two Marion County Wildfire Victims Identified - 09/15/20

This morning, September 15th, 2020, search efforts are continuing in wildfire impacted areas within Marion County.  As of this morning, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office has one remaining person reported as unaccounted for.  Deputies are coordinating search and rescue efforts which include assets from FEMA’s National Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Response System. 

To date, there have been four confirmed fatalities in Marion County as a result of the wildfires.  Investigators have identified the two previously unidentified victims as Justin Cook, 41, and Cathy Cook, 71, both of Lyons, Oregon.  The Cooks were located near their property in the 32000 block of North Fork Ln SE, Lyons.

Deputies are asking people wishing to report a loved one as missing within Marion County to contact our non-emergency dispatch center at 503-588-5032.
