The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to coordinate search and rescue efforts for areas in Marion County impacted by the Beachie Creek Fire. As of this morning, the Sheriff’s Office has just 1 person remaining who has been reported as missing, we remain at 4 total confirmed fatalities at this time.
Starting today, FEMA’s National Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Response System will be helping the Marion County Sheriff’s Office with our continuing search efforts. The US&R are able to provide assistance in structural collapse rescue and have K9 units and special equipment that is used for searching through fire and debris.
