On June 26th, 2020, at 4:31 pm deputies responded to a drowning on the Santiam River near Interstate 5 after a man fell off a tube while floating the river.  Following the incident the victim’s name was initially withheld pending notification of his next of kin.  The victim has been identified as Connor McIntosh, 25, of Albany.

As we continue to experience warm summer weather, deputies have seen an increase in the number of people visiting lakes, rivers, and other recreational waterways in Marion County.  We want to remind outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and swimming abilities to wear a life jacket while enjoying these outdoor areas.
