Extra Patrols Focusing on Impaired and Distracted Driving coming to a roadway near you - 08/10/18

The Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team will be adding additional patrols during the months of August and September. Deputies will be putting on their uniforms and taking to the roadways to detect dangerous driving behaviors like DUII, Distracted Driving and Seat Belt usage. The Sheriff's Office will begin its first patrols over Labor Day weekend and will continue into the first week of September. Similar patrols resulted in taking two DUII drivers off Marion County roadways on the 4th of July.Deputies are asking our residents and visitors to always buckle up, put your phones down and please drive safely.

Our extra patrols are made possible through grants administered by our partners at the Oregon State Sheriff's Association and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
