Today at 3:30 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called to the North Fork Road SE, near mile post 4.5 on a reported single vehicle crash. When fire personnel and deputies arrived they determined the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had died as a result of the crash.
Deputies believe the vehicle was west bound on North Fork Road when it left the roadway and impacted a tree, deputies do believe speed played a factor in the crash. The Sheriff's Office is not currently prepared to share any information regarding the vehicle or the driver until next of kin can be notified. An additional release will follow once more information is available that time frame is not yet known.
