Mother of deceased baby arrested on charges related to baby's death (Photo) - 01/18/18

On November 21st, 2017, the McMinnville Police Department began an investigation involving a 7-week old baby girl that had sustained suspicious, life-threatening injuries while at a residence in McMinnville. The baby was taken to Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville and then taken by Life Flight to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland the same day. On November 23rd, 2017, the baby was declared deceased.

On January 18th, 2018, McMinnville Police Department detectives arrested Clely Flores-Ramirez of McMinnville, the mother of the deceased baby, on charges related to the baby's death. Clely Flores-Ramirez, age 31 years, has been lodged at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility in McMinnville on the charges of Manslaughter in the 1st Degree and Criminal Mistreatment in the 1st Degree. The charge of Manslaughter in the 1st Degree is a Measure 11 offense that carries a presumptive minimum prison sentence of 120 months. The case has been forwarded to the Yamhill County District Attorney's office. Clely Flores-Ramirez will be arraigned on these charges on January 19, 2018.

The McMinnville Police Department would like to thank the Oregon Department of Justice, Newberg-Dundee Police Department, Department of Human Services Child Protective Services, Cares Northwest, Juliette's House, and those who came forward with pertinent information. These agencies and individuals were instrumental in moving the investigation forward.
